How To Be Successful In ‘Inside Pest Control’

Before venturing deep into our discussion on how to be successful in ‘inside pest control,’ it will be very essential for us to be clear on what exactly we mean by the term ‘inside pest control.’ To do so, we need to take cognizance of the two main classifications of pests. That is where we end up in a situation where pests are either classified as ‘interior pests’ or ‘external pests.’ Now it is the pests that are also referred to as ‘interior pests’ that some of us at times refer to as ‘inside pests.’ That is the case seeing that interior pests (which are also referred to as ‘inside pests’) turn out to be pests that exist indoors, as opposed to pests that exist outdoors.

In all this, a pest would be any organism whose existence is injurious to our interests. There are pests that try to harm our properties (say our animals and our plants), and then there are pests that go a step further, and try to harm us directly. The latter is the case with the likes of lice, which try to siphon blood out of us directly, and bedbugs, which can make us very uncomfortable, should they get access to our bodies.

There are two sides to the ‘inside pest control’ equation. The first side is where we look at control measures aimed at getting rid of the pests (after they have infected us, and started harming our interests in what way). The second side is where we find measures aimed at preventing the pest infection from taking place in the first place. To the extent that we have the means to put them in place, the second variety of measures, aimed at preventing the pests from getting a foothold in our lives, are much preferred over the former measures, which are reactive, as we try to get rid of the inside pests once they have started taking a toll on us.

Examples of inside pest control measures through which we can keep the pests from attacking us in the first place would include wall-crack sealing, weather stripping measures and door sealing. Seeing that the wall cracks tend to be the conduits for the inside pests to find their way into our homes, it is not hard to fathom how it would be useful to regularly inspect and seal all cracks, so that those organisms don’t find a way inside. Weather stripping measures are aimed at keeping out the likes of ants and cockroaches. To the extent that you can put in place effective weather stripping measures, whilst keeping the indoors reasonably clean, there is no reason as to why you should have a problem with such pests. It will be aimless if you seal all the cracks in the walls, whilst leaving the ones in the windows and the door unsealed, hence the need, inasmuch as you can, to use screens on the same (door and window) openings.

To the extent that you can keep the inside pests from getting their way into your home, so that you don’t have to engage in the pest control measures that are aimed at getting rid of them (baiting, spraying and so on), you would be termed as having been successful in inside pest control.
